I'm Rob, and I live and work in Hobart. This is my home base. When you work with Apps with Rob, you're not dealing with an agency on the mainland or a freelancer in another timezone. You're sitting across from me at a cafe in North Hobart or a meeting room in the CBD, talking through your idea face to face.

Hobart's business scene has changed a lot in the last few years. There are more startups, more small business owners with genuine app ideas, and more people who've been sitting on something for a while and just need the right person to help them move forward. I've watched that shift happen from the inside. I understand what it's like to build something here, where the community is tight and reputation matters more than marketing.

If you'd rather work remotely, that's completely fine too. But the option to meet face to face, have a proper conversation, and walk through your designs together in person is something most designers can't offer you. I can, because I'm right here.

What you get

Over five weeks, I take your idea from a conversation to a fully interactive prototype you can open on your phone. Everything in between is handled by one person. Research, wireframes, full screen designs, branding, and a complete developer handoff package.

The highlights: a stakeholder interview and research report, user personas, user flows, lo-fi wireframes, hi-fi screen designs, a mini brand style guide, a logo, an advanced interactive prototype, developer implementation notes, and complete Figma files. Everything a development team needs to start building.

Why not an agency?

Hobart doesn't have a huge pool of app design agencies, and the ones on the mainland don't know this market. They don't know the pace, the people, or how business works down here.
